International Yoga Instructor Naya Rappaport and her friends are hitting the sand to clean up the beach and teach.
The Bikini Beach Clean-Up and Ditch and Switch class is Sunday, August 11, beginning at 8:45 a.m., at the Pompano Beach Pier.
All are invited to take part in a morning of service and education with the mission to help the community, the environment and marine life, by cleaning up the beach.
“Our mission is to spread awareness of the cause and effect of people’s choices when it comes to plastic and trash in general,” said Naya Rappaport. “My friends and I are advocates of using biodegradable products and we have inspired many via social media to be more conscious of ways to eliminate single use plastic.”
After the beach clean-up, volunteers are encouraged to attend the Ditch and Switch Class and learn how to reuse glass bottles to make all-purpose house cleaner using essential oils. We want to make this a social media event; people are encouraged to post photos to instagram using #bikinibeachcleanup.
To RSVP to the event, contact @bikinibeachleanup on Instagram.
