The city of West Palm Beach is taking new steps to help small, minority and women-owned businesses rebound from the COVID-19 economic hit.
The city launched the Small and Minority/Woman Business COVID-19 Recovery Assistance Loan Program in February.
Director Frank Hayden spent the weekend at PGA National at a networking event hosted by Sophisticated Out Loud to talk to minority business owners about the new loan program.
Eligible businesses must be certified with the city, among other requirements. Business can get a low-interest loan from $5,000 to $20,000.
“There’s just no way you can find a better deal than what we’re offering with the City of West Palm Beach,” said Hayden. “So I’m saying check us out, come see us, look into us, you can use those funds to hire more staff, to pay off debt, to expand your business, to buy a new location we don’t care. We just want to help you build a better business in the city of West Palm Beach.”

Hayden understands some people are hesitant to get a loan right now.
“So I’m saying take a chance on us because we’re taking a chance on you as well,” Hayden added.
